Especially looking for stuff about the history of wrestling pre-90s I guess. Anything about the old territories era would be nice (saw the Vice documentary series).
Been looking at the Guy Evans WCW book and the autobiography he did with Bischoff as well. Are either much much cop?
Are there any proper standout biographies? Just kind of assumed they’d mainly be shite.
This is quite good. Tim Hornbaker’s written a few books about the territory era and they’re really well researched and full of interesting stuff but he’s unfortunately a bit of a dull writer so they can be a struggle. This is his most readable one
Didn’t rate Nitro as much as everyone else as seemed like a Bischoff rehabilitation project.
Alongside the usual recommendations (first two foley books, jerichos first) the Brody biography was decent and Hardcore Holly and Batista’s were both surprisingly good.
Have a nice day was pretty good. I especially liked the bits from when he was a jobber and The British Bulldogs and Greg Valentine beat the shit out of him.
