Really taken by this after two spins. Also forgot quite how hard i hammered his previous album. Must be on my most listened to ever on lastfm.

I dread to think how many times I listened to Yawny Yawn… absolutely soundtracked a couple of years of my life there. Yawn was great too, Bill channelling Red House Painters what’s not to love?, but the stripped back version just bored into my consciousness through some pretty dark times.

Thrilled there’s a new album coming, one of my favourite artists alive. Absolute gentleman aswell.

I’ve only seen him live once and it was on the “Yawny Yawn” piano tour which was absolutely brilliant.

Love Bill - there’s something about his production that makes the sound so warm, and this is even bigger & swirlier than the previous.

This song is unbelievably good. Cant stop playing it. My mate has had the album for a few months and said it is stunning. Definitely going to catch him on tour

Really love this new tune. Getting strong Funeral (Arcade Fire) vibes from it.

Absolutely hammered West Kirby like no other album in the last 10 years and Yawn and Yawny Yawn were both outstanding too. Not to mention A Bad Wind!

Such a great, consistent and special artist

Bet that was ace. I’ve seen him at end of the road and a day festival thing at the Ritz, will definitely be booking either Liverpool or Manchester… ambitious sized venues though I have to say.

I bumped into him in a bar after that 50th anniversary of the VU & Nico gig and he happily spent a couple of hours supping with us, smashing fella.

Yawn is the best British album of the last ten years, imho.

Can’t wait for this. Bill is one of the best.

Saw him on his solo tour a few months back he said “my new album’s going to be called Iechyd Da. It translates as ‘good health’…which is ironic”

Glad that he’s got new stuff out and touring, always worry about him a bit tbh.

As a lot of people have already said, a really top guy and a great back catalogue behind him now.

Fantastic song isn’t it. Looking forward to the album.

Always rooting for Bill.

Love how him and Forest Swords are from the same school/same area and often comment little hearts on each others posts despite making music that couldn’t be more on different ends of the spectrum. Merseyside weirdos sticking together

This song’s very nice indeed, and yes, very Funeral-esque.

I’ve only seen him live once almost a couple of years ago at Mutations Festival, and he was good, but he also seemed incredibly drunk / emotional, rambling lots about his ex and other things in-between songs. It became a relief each time a song started. Hopefully he’s in a much better place now…

Banger. Well good.

Excellent, that swirling wall behind it.

Hope he’s doing better now than the lyrics sound.

A bad wind blows in my heart is the masterpiece i got my teeth into him on.

Haven’t spun it in a while (nice to change that) but Yawn just has something so special and good about it. Never would have heard it if not for this place and played it to death.

New single’s a lovely haunted thing.

Tickets bought for New Century. Go on bill lad

Hadn’t actually listened to this when I posted yesterday.

What a bloody song, right up there with the best stuff he’s written.
