Wooooooooooop

So hyped for this. Massive potential to be one of my favourite albums of the year

They’re playing Rough Trade East too.

There’s a secret show on somewhere in North West London tonight. Don’t know where yet as the details come with the booking confirmation. There’s a link on the Bird on the wire twitter feed.

Rough Trade apparently.

Edit: (no it isn’t when they created the event on facebook it showed as being at Rough Trade tonight) they’ve changed it now to the correct date for Rough Trade)

Didn’t know they were Brit school. Makes sense I guess

is that headline a joke? love me some meaningless hype

can’t even skim that article without it giving me a headache tbhf

written by Jazz Monroe, ex- of this parish.

That line about remembering Gay Bar from when he was 6. I know it has been mentioned before but fuck they are young

Seeing this thread bobbing up at the top of Music for the last few days, that article and @manches’s continued patronage has made me check them out again.

I’ve never made it past half of Crow’s Perch but I think I might be starting to like them…

It’s really funny, I’m at work so can’t link but there’s vids of the one guy playing guitar at the age of 12 or something on YouTube

It was only seeing them live that really did it for me. Hadn’t heard much, went to see them on a whim. Kind of regretted it at first cause of the snow and it was a slog getting there from work

But then I was grinning from ear to ear throughout the show

Yeah feels a bit like I need a full album to make sense of them - and I look forward to hearing it.

Apparently none of the singles are going to be on the album

I love em but some of the hyperbole is ridiculous

Like they’re basically a math rock band

Albeit a really really really good one with some cool ideas

That’s good because to be honest (with the exception of bmbmbm) they’ve released all the weakest songs from their set imo. I like the ones the bass player does vocals on and the dancy one that’s super long called Ducter, though I imagine it’ll have a different title by now.

My favourite is this (from 19:55), when it kicks in reminds me of the first track off the Ghost Trades by Camberwell Now

Have you watched that KEXP video SexyFlanders posted upthread yet? That is absolutely superb and shows what they’re about really well I think
