Really like the album on first listen.

Like with the previous album I’m finding the production and drums are turning me off. There’s a real focus on the high end - bass is sparse and all the percussion is really metallic. Dumb Flesh had a saturated feel across every element that felt monumental (similar to the first FB album). Synths make me think of happy hardcore at points too.

On paper it should be right up my street.

Fair play to him in any case - to evolve from Street Horrorising into this level of crossover success is admirable.

Only the one listen so far, enjoyed it a lot! Not sure if I prefer World Eater, but I like that the past 2 flow very well as albums. Dumb Flesh is great, but for me is a bit sloggy in one listen.

It seems like he’s gone full circle in some ways, the vocals remind me loads of Street Horrrsing (which strangely, isn’t on streaming services?).

I’m not sure if I have exactly the same issues with it as you but I feel like if he could nail down the production he’d be amazing. But then I wonder if it’s intended to be headphone music, I think it’s probably designed to be blasted out of speakers (unfortunately not an option for me, ever)
