i think that’s wonderful
I was kind of middling on the film (I liked it, but it had big flaws for me) but imagine being that director - hyped debut feature at like 20 years old and you also manage to slip a new and original Boards of Canada track in there on the day of release
I’m enjoying the theory aspect but the author has also compiled an incredibly impressive collection of art, films, music and television which explore (either intentionally or otherwise) hauntology as an aesthetic/frame of reference.
“Well, I hardly believe that your own your own father, or mother, or brother, or sister would be your enemy?” is the final boss.
so fucking heartbreaking when you understand the context of that. I’m still a bit iffy on the track, mainly because it is quite jarring - but I’m glad they made it.
Are you calling Him a liar?
No, I’m not calling Him a liar
this is the one part where I find the vocal sample a bit too jarring and Cassetteboy-esque (the rest of the track is good)
I think that’s wonderful
still listening to this most days, god i love it. almost certainly in my top 20 albums of all time. along with the rest (except TH, which is probably in my top 100 tbf to it)
.
I LOVE U BOC
Just received my copy today. Soon I’m going to finally listen to it and everything! Can’t rush these things, right? I have to say all the artwork is awesome. Really sets a mood.
I think that’s wonderful!
I’m so glad!
