Included with the deluxe edition is a hardcover book featuring a complete reproduction of one of Dylan’s notebooks from the era.

Brilliant. Definitely picking that up.

The mid-70s stuff has been largely neglected by the Bootleg Series, the last time they did it was volume 5 with the Rolling Thunder tour live album (and other than that, it’s just been a handful of tracks on volumes 2 and 3).

Heard the New York sessions before, some tracks are better, some not imo. ‘Your a big girl now’ is superb more stripped down, but i’ve always liked the lush playing on the ‘real’ version.

I like the way they’ve not done the bootleg series in chronological order or with any set format, the randomness is fun and keeps it interesting. Great thing about Dylan is there’s always something on each release that I love. The Trouble No More one isn’t really an era many hold in the highest regard but the version of Carribean Wind was fucking excellent.

In other news: Moonshiner is a really beautiful tune eh?
