we had a teacher who would always read Jeremy James books

my sibling and their friend came up with a theme song

“Jeremy James James James James Jeremy James” were the lyrics

as someone whose name is James, I would get irked when they would sing this

Also had this. Was thinking about it the other day and I’m 90% sure there was a sentence in there along the lines of: “during puberty you may feel confused about whether you’re attracted to the opposite sex or not. Remember that these feelings pass so it’s best not to act on them.” Lol

these covers are fixed in my memory - something about them has hugely influenced me, no idea how but they definitely have. I love the depth of the black with those little dashes of bright primary colour

If you had the same edition that I did (c.1990), I don’t think that sentence was in there, although given that the books were almost standard issue to schools, I imagine that Usborne would have had to be very careful given the existence of Section 28
