Yeah fair, it’s just the contradiction between average laptops lasting ~18 months before slowing, android phones maybe a touch more than that but not really*, and chromebooks having 5 years+ lifespan as a selling point.
*(why do phones constantly need and introduce higher power handsets, when a chromebook just bungs shite old atoms and stuff in and run fine)
Having said that - of course when I bought an expensive chromebook it had all sorts of hardware issues and I had to return it, yet my 18 month old budget Chinese smartphone is still powering through.
