One of the saddest things about this is how unsurprising it is, and that speaks volumes. I don’t buy any BD product apart from Punk AF nowadays, but it’s time for an (overdue TBH) total boycott. Solidarity with everyone who put their name to this letter and those who feel they couldn’t.

Edit: @Severed799 I hope your partner and friends are ok, and @blind_pilot you too

“abusive workplaces not for everyone”

Do you know much about unionising efforts there? I hope this leads to a push further towards a brewdog union

There’s definitely a push for it happening now, yes

Five and a half years. Five and a half years I toughed it out.

Astonishingly shit statement, even for him. Hundreds have left that company, after various lengths of service, because they were often absolutely ground down by the culture and serious abuse and malpractice at senior management level there. Not because they weren’t up for a bit of hard work and graft.

The absolute fucking cheek of it.

Get in the fucking bin you toxic half-price Peaky Blinder wannabe.

What a load of tone deaf toss.

I would be surprised, but pleasantly so, if this became a mainstream news story.

I think there is a portion of craft beer drinkers who will vote with their wallets to avoid BD, but lets be honest, BD stopped going after those customers a long time ago, so I’m not sure how it will impact their bottom line.

Fuck knows how the equity punk thing works, maybe a total condemnation from them would cut through, but I get the impression too many are zealous fanboys in the company’s image.

It is trending on Twitter though with its own explainer line, which is something. Maybe the brand is bigger than I thought.

We need to move past the “someone behind something I don’t like has been accused of awful behaviour, so I’m now going to gleefully attack the thing I don’t like, safe in the knowledge I’m now in the right” thing that happens all the time.

Not attacking anyone here for it, I’m pretty sure I’ve been guilty of it in the past when it comes to Morrisey/the Smiths, but it’s completely self-serving.

Ah, I actually quite like the brewdog beers. Just thought the tweet was amusing

Yeah I don’t have any major issue with you sharing it or anything, it’s not like it’s punching down or whatever, just something that I’ve thought about for a while whenever anything like this comes up.

Is this all part of a much wider thing? Saw Marble Arch issuing a statement a few weeks back:

Yeah, it is actually. I’ll try and dig a link out…

Dig up, stupid!

Couldn’t expect anything different really, like I said in the beer wanker thread, if it wasn’t so awful it would almost be refreshing to get a blunt “fuck you” rather than the usual pablum.
