Pretty sure Wales were on the offensive to try and ensure they didn’t lose their funding before even half the votes had been counted - way ahead of Scotland or even Cornwall.

So, do we think that a lot of today’s events (the ‘deal’ the DUP statement, the Irish response, the content of the May/Junker press conference, the falling apart of the deal) were a bit of stagecraft?

Is this govt smart enough for stagecraft?

Can’t spell principality without pal!

No, because this government are a collection of incompetents, grifters and absolute chancers who are winging it day to day, sometimes hour to hour. Completely beyond the idea of false flags and clever misdirections in 2017.

The deal and Irish response potentially were, but I’ll bet they were gambling on getting it past the DUP and having a conference that announced a deal in principle on the first stage

How could you not make the DUP accept those rights in exchange for A BILLION POUNDS.

How.

Designed to show the unworkability of a hard brexit? A nice idea but they probably just are this useless.

Feels so incredibly farcical that May could ordinarily tell the DUP to go fuck themselves (strictly speaking they’re not even in power in NI right now) but ohhh wait that’s right she paid them off for support so she can’t piss them off.

How the FUCK did we end up here

The DUP are kind of fucked regardless - if they withdraw their support for the tories then a general election and then a corybn lead goverment is likely and they are out of the picture. Maybe they are just trying to extra the most out of the scenario they are in. But again it’s farcical situation.

May must be having nightly nightmares regretting calling an early general election

it’s a few months old but i think this Fintan O’Toole article on Brexit, the border and national identity is decent

Have any papers gone with ‘Come on Arlene’ as their front page headline?
