We will all be eating cat food post brexit

Been sticking my prescription for inhalers in more regularly than I would otherwise. Got a few in store just in case.

Not sure if it was some sort of targeted message, but was on YouTube yesterday and a suggested video popped up of some bloke eating military meal kits… I ended up spending like an hour and a half watching videos of this bloke unpacking and eating ration packs.
Looks quite fun, like a picnic really. Bring on Brexit!

Can we also have a separate thread for knees chat?

Interesting read really that - lays bare how badly they’ve misjudged the political landscape and what it takes to build a cross party consensus, which raises the question as to whether those gunning for it have the nous to build a centrist coalition of voters or not.

lol this is the funniest thing i’ve read this week. completely incompetent bellends

The sources said Chuka Umunna was widely viewed on the campaign and among Labour colleagues as harbouring ambitions to form a new party, and that MPs keen on the idea have attempted to use the People’s Vote campaign to launch attacks on Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party’s Brexit policy.

the idea of chuka being anyone’s idea of a leader, Lol, lmao, imo

Got a bit of a stock of ibuprofen and some tinned food.

“We’ve passed peak People’s Vote,” she said.

I may be grossly misjudging things, but I think there might have been an appetite for a “confirmation vote” on the government’s deal. Could wrap it up on the basis that no responsible democracy would make such wide ranging changes to the way it’s run in one foul swoop based on a vote won by a narrow margin that was on a vague idea. Hell, New Zealand had several successive referendums just on their flag a couple of years ago!

yeah this^

of course the whole thing was sold on a populist ‘simple in-out referendum’ basis in the first place rather than a vote on principle confirmed by a ratification of the actual deal once decided

so it always looked rather desperate and opportunist coming on the heels of the referendum result to demand a ‘re-run’ or however people perceived it

I could seriously knee-cap David Cameron

The thing that pisses me off about Cameron is how lassez faire he is about it whenever he’s interviewed. Really just makes clear that the whole politics thing was just a game to him.

Starting to think May’s deal will get through simply because she’ll continue to be utterly intransigent, then everyone will panic at no-deal and vote it through.

And then when climate change has come for us all she’ll be the last living thing on earth, haunting the flooded House of Commons and muttering about the will of the people.

And they STILL didn’t go for the correct design…

this is clearly what’s going to happen

and it’ll happen in a vote where 60+ ERGers & misc Tories vote against the PM while Labour vote for May’s deal because the alternative is total shutdown

…and then May will walk away from the whole thing without a scratch on her & every negative consequence will be pinned on someone else

and the deal will satisfy nobody and the problems will rumble on for years and years and years

anyone who offers a 50/50 choice and doesn’t plan contingencies for both outcomes is …well, what’s the word for that ?

This will never happen.

EDIT: The ERG lot will vote for it because May will threaten no-Brexit, and the Tory ‘rebels’ will vote for it because May will threaten No-Deal, despite the Tory rebels refusing to vote for an amendment that would force May to rule out No Deal, and refusing to vote for an amendment that lays out the path to a confirmatory referendum.

got enough spirits to keep a family of 4 very drunk for a week, and 2 cans of Tomatillos.

also, wouldn’t surprise me if both the Conservative Party & The Labour Party split in two post-Brexit - there’ll be a ‘Real Brexit’ campaign from the right of the Tories (ERG & UKIP alliance) who will deny that we’ve even Brexited and an EUreturn splinter/centre coalition

Are you saying that all Labour members of the House would loyally follow the whip to de facto vote for No Deal ?

If May’s Deal goes through do you think all sides will be satisfied that Brexit is done and dusted & we can all get back to our lives now ?
