They just move to a monthly rolling contract

Government ministers resign, and another vote of no confidence?

Sounds like a possibility. I presume if she does delay then that also applies to the other two votes you mentioned earlier?

Surely they need to vote on being able to extend A50. 18 days, like. Yes I am naive.

Yes. Vote #2 only happens if May loses Vote #1. Vote #3 only happens if May loses Vote #2.

Presumably May can unilaterally decide to ask for an Article 50 extension. So she kicks the can on the vote and then does that at the last possible moment? And the can keeps rolling?

£450m in contract renewal fees (but only if before 1st June)

Imagine being the Virgin Media call centre operative who has to deal with Arlene Foster’s broadband.

If:

  • current agreement is voted down
    AND
  • no-deal Brexit is voted down
    AND
  • article 50 extension is voted down

Then what? The cabinet all take a load of Pro-Plus and head to the computer room for an all-nighter?

Then we crash out on 29th.

Correct. No deal Brexit is the default option.

if we’ve left it to late to extend article 50, we can unilaterally withdraw it, do we have time for that? would that have trouble getting through with no deal being the only alternative?

Yes. But May has always maintained that she won’t do this.

If the UK government can convince the EU that an extension is in good faith to avoid no deal then I’d imagine it can be fudged somehow whatever the timescales.

The more I read this the funnier it gets…

This would be hilarious/incredibly depressing

The process of getting an international driving permit at the weekend so that I can legally drive my hire car on holibobs in the event of a no deal Brexit has convinced me that we’re definitely, definitely, definitely going to be fine.

Also the permit looks an awful lot like a rationing book so we’re probably sorted for those too. Excelsior!
