Alright, Brian Molko

I’m in a University admin office full of brexiteers seemingly not arsed about any potential impact on the EU / overseas students that keep the place running. Funny old world.

Truckers protesting for Brexit makes about as much sense as turkeys getting excited about their office Secret Santa.

Really? Jeez. Not spoken to any brexiteers at work here. Must be some shy ones though.

Just seen that May is trying to extend to June 30th, which is a clear ploy to make Glastonbury even more hateful.

[fast forward to June 30th, and upcoming indie band Bell Shandy are opening proceedings on the Wheatgrass Stage]

“Hey, how you doing? Awesome. Now everyone say after me ‘fuck Brexit’ “

[the crowd oblige and the footage is later shown by the BBC with a breathless Gemma Kearney declaring it a ‘stunning moment’ and one she ‘won’t never forget’ straight down the lense]

[two weeks later in a Sunday paper interview]

“We aren’t really a political band, we simply couldn’t sit back and not say anything”

FUCK OFF EVERYONE (never going to happen, stay calm Huntspill)

Yeah, it’s madness. Inevitably most of them are due to retire in the next few years but f*ck everyone else, right?

Erk. Genuinely can’t believe anyone working around higher education would vote leave but I have the same situation in my office. (Not directly working in HE but it’s our main audience)

Is anyone on this forum actually “pro” Bercow? The impression that I get is that everyone here understands he’s a horrible bully and almost certain misogynist but circumstances have pitted him against two much greater evils and for now he’s doing a thoroughly successful and amusing job of trolling those evils. Doesn’t excuse what he did before, and I’ll gladly see him go down for his wrongdoings if/when he steps down and they get properly investigated. But equally that doesn’t stop me revelling in someone actually doing an effective job at making May completely lose her wig (much moreso than some others who get a fairly easy ride here)

Think of it like that time we were all happy that City won the title because the alternative was Liverpool winning it.

Unless you don’t mean the fine people of these here boards and are referring to the People’s Vote lot who are unironically calling for his knighthood, because you’re spot on there. There’ll be the same moral blind spot towards him amongst most remainders as there is towards Churchill’s sins from most Brits

both of those things really. the whole thing is a fucking nightmare, and I want to get off.

What has he actually done, bullying/misogyny-wise? I was under the impression that (I get) he’d not done much to stop bullying, which is obviously shit, but I get the feeling I’m totally missing something.

Well yes, quite. If you gave me the option I’d love to not have to choose between a probable misogynistic bully or the most evil, hateable government in at least 100 years pursuing a deplorable policy. But as things stand I’m trying to draw some small comfort/amusement from the schadenfreude rather than think about the possibility of my life being ruined

All of the EU is overseas, if you think about it.
