It’s no longer up to May. Tonight’s motion is not binding, but the government ignoring it (assuming it will pass) won’t lead anywhere, as it will piss off the majority of MPs even further.

Also STILL the fucking “Corbyn is a leaver” as a known fact bullshit. Fucking fuck off.

This isn’t true - the govt. accepted the EU’s proposal, so March 29th is no longer in EU law. If they fail to change the date in domestic legislation it will be a huge mess, but the UK will still be a member of the EU.

I’m not sure that is correct. The EU has given the UK two options: extend Article 50 until 12 April or extend until 22 May. As long as the UK government has not responded to the EU, the exit date is 29 March.

They have already, I thought.

Apparently the UK government did respond on Friday, with an official letter agreeing to the EU council’s decision.

You’re right, I’m wrong. The new ‘no deal’ Brexit date is 12 April

This doesn’t apply to the goo, right? Because it’s domestically produced. Please tell me it doesn’t apply to the goo

I know I shouldn’t get wound up, but seeing people say things like “when the petition reaches 17.4 million then we can talk about it” and “when 17.4 million people march in London we can have another referendum” irks me a lot. Get tae f*ck.

It’s OK, we’ll be invoking the Malthouse standstill agreements. I’m sure they cover everything, goo included.

That was a statement by Angela Leadsom, the Leader of the House, and a staunch Brexiteer.

I think once it’s goo time trade agreements aren’t going to be much of a concern. We’ll back to living by the law of who has the biggest spoon. Just as god intended.

I don’t get this bit - what happens when the MPs decide that everyone wants this amazing deal and yeah lets go for that, but it hasn’t been agreed or even discussd with the EU?

The UK will ask the EU for a long extension, e.g. two years, and start renegotiating with the EU.

The EU has always said that if there is a drastic change of circumstances (e.g. a new government in the UK) they are prepared to reopen the Withdrawal Agreement and/or the Political Declaration.

Did not know she’d said it as well. Had seen plenty on twitter and they’ve obviously taken their cue from her.

Kind of reminds me of how May saying “No deal is better than a bad deal” has stuck in everyone’s head

Aged well that one, hasn’t it

EU are saying they’ve completed their no-deal preparations

“As it is increasingly likely that the UK will leave the EU without a deal on the 12th of April the European Commission has today completed its no-deal preparations” :grimacing:
