Do you think we give a fuck? All the same. Other.

Just get Jean to say i’m in meetings then i’ll fire over a quick SMS once i’m done on the back nine.

It’s reassuring to see the consensus is that it’s weird. It is fucking weird.

Really weird.

Like, if I was meeting my Mum for lunch or something, and she was a little early, then I’d invite her in and she’d be welcome, but that’s it. at a push. and even that would never happen.

My dad is sometimes in my work but that’s because I work at a publisher and a different department publishes some of his stuff. It’s always weird seeing him here though.

I send them links when a report I’ve worked on publishes, they say they will read it but I don’t think they do

Once Mrs HYG’s parents were in the country on holiday, they were meant to meet her in the evening but got done early so she said they could come to her office. Her mum ended up falling asleep on a sofa in the middle of their open plan office, to everyone’s great amusement.

Can’t imagine any circumstance in which friends/family would go any further than the main ground floor reception tbh

yeah, they do know what i do.

if my mum was in London on a weekday i’d take her here for lunch and show her the building, but only cos it’s listed and has some pretty cool bits.

I let my gf in on my pass once so she could use the loo. Please don’t tell security.

There is a toilet at the ground floor reception of our office!

Different offices innit. We’re on the ground floor here, have a nice kitchen area and I have my own office, so would be fine. That said, my Mum wouldn’t want to and if she was early she would just wait somewhere else to meet me. My point was more trying to find some way in which it wouldn’t be weird.

Yeah my folks know

yeah they know
they both came in once to say hi a few weeks after i first started at the place i work now and it was really weird cause they didn’t even bother betting
my dad makes a point to only go in if i’m not working and always tips my colleagues if he wins anything

Huh what? That’s really weird.

And yes, my dad knows what I’m supposed to be doing for work. He doesn’t know about DiS, obvs.

A lot of presumption in this thread actually.

When I used to manage the coffee shop obviously my Mum used to come in all the time.

It’s happened once to me when I was working in retail, but not since then.

@AQOS to thread

They know what I do. They even questioned whether it is the right career for me after my endless complaints.

They aren’t welcome in my office.

Nah, he works with his mum, who isn’t my mum that he is not in a relationship with
