What do you think? A perfectly reasonable way for the BBC & ITV to compete with Netflix & Amazon…or is it an underhand ploy for the BBC to get you to pay for content twice?
Is that really the best name they could come up with?
I’ve always thought that the BBC should be making more of their vast archive by putting more of it on iplayer. I assume that they will now be monetising this archive through BritBox…which is a bit rubbish.
Shouldve called it netbrits
Sounds a bit porny tho
Got to be better than Netflix
they can’t just put everything up on iplayer though, ofcom stops them in the public interest appaz
The stuff they broadcast will still be put on iplayer for 30 days or whatever, however, it will presumably then go to BritBox.
Ahh, so that is why the ‘From The Archive’ section on iplayer is always rubbish.
Imagine being forced to have the entire range of BBC shows at your fingertips, at no extra cost. I’d be so enraged.
it’s more frustrating than that, it’s because private companies are selling box sets, if they dump them all up there then they could affect their revenue (and jobs)!
It’s what it’s already known as in the US.
have itv ever made anything good (apart from This Morning, obvs)
For about 10 years that was the only thing I watched on ITV.
(I now watch Endeavour, too)
makes sense. I mean it’s ridiculous, but it makes sense, i guess.
