Building a PC Thread

I managed to get a Ryzen 5900X / ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 PC in 2021. The chosen few.

Just buy this one imo

almost tempted to buy this, swap the Gpu for my 1660 and put it straight back on eBay for about 600 quid

This is a boast post. I got a 3080 FE from Scan at RRP a few months back. A matter of milliseconds. Chosen few indeed.

We all going to be trying to get a 3080 Ti at launch this afternoon then? A mere £1200 RRP for something that’s not actually much better than the standard 3080. Absolute bargain. Might get two so I’ve got a spare.

I managed to somehow burn out the on/off switch on my new build by plugging in the wrong molex cable into it…still not sure what I did wrong all this time later  the beautiful piano black super quiet case still sits in my house, an empty husk

Shoot

external HDD possibly dead, want to run chkdsk on it but don’t know what letter it’s mapped to because it’s not visible in Windows explorer

Try treesize maybe?

I know how to do this in Linux but not Windows. I am very helpful.

Oh wow, I actually just got a 3080 Ti into my basket and ready to checkout.

I’m not paying £1000 for a fucking graphics card though. But still!

Whoops

:frowning:

How fucking gutted would you be if some daft Amazon MMO beta bricked your £infinity graphics card that you probably can’t even replace

time for a new PC soon i reckon. probably not gonna build one because… just no. but can i like build it online type thing, or shall i just buy one off somewhere? what do people who aren’t tech nerds do nowadays?
