the real issue is that housing is treated as a luxury rather than a necessity. it’d be a folly to blame an individual for ‘looking after’ their family, but everything about buying and renting property stinks on the meta level.

its just like, the system that sucks, bro.:v:

a friend of mine got made redundant 3 times in succession over a period of 4 years. he’s currently taking a year off living in Berlin doing absolutely nothing.

But it’s a luxury that it is an empty gesture, and self hampering, to deny oneself from aspiring to on “Tory scum” moral grounds. The housing crisis in this country isn’t going to be solved by individuals refusing to accept parental help to buy.

Much as the refugee situation isn’t going to solved by refugees refusing to pay huge sums of money to people traffickers.

i can’t imagine you’d get much if you’d not been working at the company for a while?

for me it was the best thing that’s ever happened to me workwise. got 7 month salary, 7 years worth of shares doubled, free educational sponsorship and rid of a job i didn’t like.

yes, thats pretty much the point I’m trying to make.

but I’m basically fully on board with this.

the first one he’d been there for just over two years, and the next 2 jobs were just coming up to two years. I don’t know how much he got in total, but he just sits around in his pants posting stuff on instagram for a living now.

I’m not fully on board with the latter point, but it should definitely be taxed at a decent whack.

It’s never happened though. People genuinely offered money not needed by their parents towards buying a house have never turned it down in the history of humans, people just pretend they did, or that it was a great moral quandary, for kudos/indie points

Do you feel the same way about parents pretending to be religious to get their kids into a good school at the expense of others? Or about parents sending their kids to private school?

The woman’s parents gave us a couple of grand towards the deposit and mine gave us the same to sort sofas, beds, furniture and etc out.

Probably worth it from their point of view to get rid of us a bit sooner…

What on earth is a ‘pinko’?!?!?
Never, ever heard that before.

It’s someone with 2 houses
