Buying a mattress

I’m in the market for a new mattress and I have a decent budget of £400-500 for one. Thing is, I have no idea what I’m looking for. Ideally something like a Premier Inn mattress but I reckon they’ll cost a bomb.

Can anyone recommend a Premier Inn-like mattress that falls within my budget?

Thx.

Have you considered an Irish made mattress?

obligatory ‘I work in a foam factory’, ‘springs over substance’ etc.

Went to Ikea the other day - seems to be mostly business as usual with a nod at distancing and some screens up. I didn’t see the restaurant so I don’t know what that was doing

Oh wow, within budget. And I can afford pillows too!

Shut this thread down.

You’ve ruined the thread. I hope you’re happy. What a sad little life, mwt.

Do you have a Santander current account? They regularly have 10% off the PI Hypnose mattresses as part of their retailer offers. Unfortunately it’s not on at the moment but it does come up regularly.

Modern mattresses are fucking shite. One of my biggest bugbears. Sleep well on any classic mattress, providing its not rock hard, but all this memory foam shite and whatever turns me into a static sweaty mess.

I’m pretty settled on/excited about the Premier Inn bed now. I thought they’d be £1k+, have you slept on those things? Utterly divine.

recently bought a new mattress from ikea. went and tried them out, they had like disposable covers that you put on the mattress before you lie down. anyway my new mattress is a dream, our old one was really soft and crippled my back whereas after two nights sleeping on this bad boy i feel incredible

I have yes - and they’re on my list of mattresses to consider when the time comes. A good mattress is definitely worth the money.

That’s what I meant by PI Hypnose - they’re the premier inn mattresses. If you buy them with a Santander card at the right time you get 10% cash back

OH! Sorry, I only know them as Premier Inn mattresses - that’s not a bad discount, I’d be tempted to badger someone with a Santander account but I need to order one fairly soon-ish. Thanks for the tip-off though!
