Fair enough, he comes across very well in that interview. I think we were generally a bit guilty of taking the accusations at face value in this thread, probably in part fueled by a dislike of the band’s image/music.

Their music is never going to be to my taste - and the gross out dinner lady video is enough to put me off investigating any further but their response to the allegations is pretty admirable and level headed. Hopefully this won’t overshadow their career.

It does seem like its more down to a misjudgment of the type of crowd they were playing to and the bit about what sometimes works in a small club gig might not come across well at a larger gig with younger fans makes sense. I’m still not a massive fan but I remember Blur used to do mental stuff live when they were starting out so it would be shame to see them crucified for this before they get a chance to develop as a band.

As hard as it is sometimes it’s best to refrain judgment about these type of things. Unless you are there or are able to talk to the parties involved it’s impossible to have an accurate picture of what happened. Particularly when it’s being reported second hand.

Much better is to invest in institutions that take these things seriously and you trust in their judgment. Really shows why you need organisations such as SG4W to help to get to the truth of these issues while taking claims of adult very seriously

There was a lot made of the statement that you had your hands down your pants in a lot of the social media postings and that being linked to the claims of sexual assault

Lee : I’m not defending it, but I come from a place where doing that’s commonplace. It’s something I did unconsciously.
