The Tea Party are going to need a bolt-hole to use if their own nasty right-wing candidate loses next month.

Can easily imagine a scenario in 10/15 years time when we are BEGGING for migrants of any kind when the last of the baby boomers are all in retirement/in need of social care until 90+ years old.

You forgot Australia and New Zealand too.

Ah yes.

But South Africa wasn’t mentioned. I couldn’t possibly guess why.

white English speakers only, please!

problem with the border issue is, i’ve obviously been following it closely since the referendum campaign and we’ve been given lots of assurances that it won’t change but without any actual explanation as to how. they just say “oh don’t be silly, the Common Travel Area has existed since the 1920s long before the EU” and shut the discussion down with accusations of scaremongering. but the Common Travel Area worked when neither country was a member of the EU, and it worked when both countries were members - but we’ve never had a one-in-one-out scenario before which massively complicates how an open border might work. now they’ve finally come up with a solution and it’s just “treat the Republic of Ireland like an extension of the UK and ask them to tighten their immigration controls for our benefit”.

of course retaining free movement solves everything but that would be too simple wouldn’t it

Mate, are you suggesting that something regarding Brexit hasn’t been thought through properly?

WE’RE LEAVING MATE GET OVER IT

#remoaner

With informed voters like this I don’t know why people keep moaning.

Yeah, and to pay their taxes into the system to fund their state pensions seeing as nice people like Philip Green prefer not to. The reality of how much migrants actually put into the system seems to be lost on a remarkable number of people.

Profoundly depressing.

‘More control, more control.’

Repeating parrot fashion the Farage/Boris rallying cry.

The thing is, for most of the EU economies, the migration situation with the UK is very lop-sided. We take their young, economically productive citizens, and export out our healthcare-dependent retirees.

It doesn’t make for a strong negotiating position.

Damn pregnant women, clearly we should be chucking them out on the street where they can give birth:

And the Mail doesn’t like all those unpatriotic Remainers. I mean Remoaners. Get it?

This is very good. Robust & direct:

could of done with something liek that during teh referendum campaign

Should’ve just linked the Tories to this thread

(I agree, it’s intelligent and comprehensive)

Isn’t it funny how people who were so keen to leave the EU cos of ‘democracy’ are now flat out refusing to have any democratic discussion about the future direction of the country. :unamused:

Almost as if they have no actual plan about what to do now and need to desperately deflect attention from that.
