so annoying how he seems to end up bringing it up on every podcast

Yeah he has. I thought more of Louis though and because they gave it some time on the podcast it was even more disappointing.

You should do one. But you probably can’t be arsed.

Who knew so many of you hold Louis Theroux so close to your hearts

we needed a new elon thread.

Tbf at least it’s more an annoying middle class benign diplomat sorta thing than him deliberately being a shit. It’s not much but it kinda puts it in a better context

Can take or leave, but your comment tickled me.

I like his work a lot but was pretty disappointed with his Scientology film.

I haven’t seen that one (partly because of the reviews), but I got the impression that the problem with that is he didn’t find out anything interesting/new that hasn’t been out there for years and he utterly failed to get into the “church”. All his stuff is best when whoever he’s documenting lays themselves bare like an open book and he was pretty much on a hiding to nothing with that film.

Well that was weird - just finished reading this thread and I look up from my laptop to see the rolling BBC News TV at work has got Louis on right now talking about his new documentary. Feel like I’ve just been Derren Browned…

Did anyone watch that?

Thought it was more like Weird Weekends than anything he’s done for a decade or longer. Loved it, was fascinating.

Yeah, definitely felt the counter culture vibe that has been missing in his recent documentaries.

Didn’t change the way I feel about polyamorous relationships, but it’s always fun to watch Louis squirming in his British awkwardness, this time at that food tasting orgy thing.

Spent a large part of the episode thinking the IT blokes were called Vic and Bob.
