Can you tell the difference between a Spanish & a Portuguese accent?

  • Pretty much every time
  • Some of them
  • About half the time
  • I’m not sure
  • Occasionally I’d get one right
  • It’d be mostly guesswork

What’s your secret? I mean Portuguese here and not Brazilian dialect, not that I’m implying that’s what you meant, but just some additional deets.

Lots of ‘sh’ sounds in Portuguese. Think it might be my favourite language to hear

Portuguese people sound a bit Russian/eastern european. Spanish people don’t.

By the way: Portuguese? Best accent.

Reckon there’d be a market for a half Essex/east end, half Portuguese man calling himself a Portugeezer. Probably not

fairly close to my grandparents’ english accent tbh. my mate calls them the ‘cockney gallegos’ on account of their accent.

Do they sound like bellerin (great accent)? Who in turn sounds like the barber in the armando ianucci shows

I remember that being used by the tabloids in a rather more nefarious way in regard to an early Big Brother contestant.
