What you really want to do is get a grey car and not put the lights on when it’s rainy/misty/foggy.
Be prepared for it to look dirty all the time unless you wash it regularly. Depends how much that bothers you obvs.
God I can’t beleive how much nicer an automatic feels
gone and bought a brand spanking new MG4. not collected it yet.
was torn between that an an electric mini which was lovely but not super practical.
so I’m a driver now I guess.
A turncoat in the War on Cars.
Slightly bricking it about driving the car home from the dealership. First time ever in the car by myself. Only a 35 minute drive but nerve wracking anyway. Sorry to the people of Orpington and Bromley I will be driving a lil’ on the slow slide.
That and swirl marks if you go through automatic brush carwashes or don’t use good clean sponges and drying rags to clean it yourself. Had one once, never again. Have a very dark blue now, would rather never go that dark again either.
That drive is absolutely fine, you’ll be alright.
I loved these. Sat in one in the Merc garage off Oxford Street about 20 odd years ago and thought it was so cool. This coupe version was better than the standard one. The Brabus ones must have been good fun!
It was a great car. Being so low, I was always blinded by other car’s lights, but a nippy two seater rear wheel drive convertible was such a joy. I’m glad I had one when I did, because it would be utterly impractical now - I can see why middle aged men buy convertibles when their kids no longer need ferrying around!
Er, ahem, I am a middle aged man with a convertible, and my children need less ferrying around, so that counts…(also it is often sunny in Norfolk!)
Had police car following me and checking my plate when I was driving along this morning. First time that’s happened. Made me nervous even though I was driving in speed limit, sensibly etc etc.
I used to get that when I was in my twenties. No idea why
I got pulled over once and got asked a load of really suspicious questions (about a driving ban and expired insurance) until they realised that I wasn’t my brother and ended the stop quickly.
His mate is a police officer and clearly thought it was hilarious.
Nearly rammed a Tesla in my lesson today, so I think I’m getting the hang of it.
Believe in yourself, you’ll manage it next time!
You can’t without a US address. Even then there’s a huge waiting list.
Registering and using worked fine for me. Very common in downtown SF
Interesting. We were in SF in November and couldn’t sign up.
