You just need to be assertive/pretend you know what you’re doing. If you can’t do that…well, yeah, you’re screwed.
I always open with ‘look mate, I know my stuff on this so don’t try and mug me off like some proper fucking mug, you mug’
Think as a salesperson it would be often an adaptive trait to be open and honest. Bet you would do just as well

What I like about car salesman now is they’re forced to make personalised promotional videos for customers. Seen a it a few times now when my colleagues were looking, instead of just following up with an email, they send a fucking hostage video talking straight into the camera trying to get the deal done. Amazing.
