This is the stuff @The_Respected_User
I’ve got one of these:
It’s fine.

Oh wow - they’re so nice. I have something similar, but I don’t think it’s aged all that well - got quite stained from having it in my jeans pocket all the time, and the raised numbers on my card have gradually worn through onto the surface.
This could make a nice replacement…
Ordered one of these, THANK YOU CHANTI AND THANK YOU THREAD!
Now I need to think up a what3words game post.
I love those kind of personal aging details - really makes it yours. I also don’t mind a bit of indigo transfer here and there. I do generally prefer a lighter coloured or even untreated leather for taking on that kind of patina though.
My card holder also has credit card bumps!
I would have recommended Dukes (another craft leather worker in Glasgow) who made this, but they appear to be on hiatus. I think they made these for my pal Grant though:
I’ve had one of these for quite literally ten years now and it’s been an ever-reliable companion
The Herschel logo comes off very easily if you don’t want to look like Flashy Freddie
It’s weird. I think it might be the colour now you mention it. I have a Tanner untreated leather belt which is about 15 years old and I really like the patina on that, possibly due to the contrast.
Orzel looks like a great store. Would love to visit it one day.
I have one of these, it’s lasted for ever and I love it
I’ve had one for about 6 years, it’s still going strong and works well.
I went for a double card holder which turned out to be a bit of a pain as you end up having to fill both slots and then end up carrying a lot of unnecessary cards around. The holder only really works when it’s decently full.
Very solid design, very durable, and quite often elicits an “ooh that’s cool” from retail staff.
One I like but don’t have
I have this Exentri one too. It’s slightly on the bulky side* compared to other little card clip ones but lasts forever (the leather ages really well). I did lose one, but immediately just replaced it with the same one, which I guess also speaks for the quality.
*reckon I’d maybe get this one these days. Has enough space for a few cards and a bit of cash, which is all I ever take
What’s wrong with putting them inside the back of your phone case, your majesty?
(This was for @The_Respected_User but everyone here is on notice)
Nothing wrong with that! One of those phone cases with a little card holder is a pretty good solution too. I just worry that if I lose that I lose everything. I don’t even take my wallet out 2/3 time now.
I don’t have one of those kinds of phone cases
Struggling to picture a phone case that can’t have a card underneath it…
I’d take a photo but unfortunately I would need to use my phone to take a photo of my phone
Use a mirror! I’ll wait
