First night we brought ours home I put Empire Strikes Back on, for the first hour Cosmo was transfixed but eventually got used to it. But all the way through he’d react to R2-D2’s noises, his ears stuck up and he’d whip his head around.

Has anyone ever used a plane to transport their cats? I’m super nervous about it. The other option is driving 30 hours

A plane ticket for a cat box in the hold isn’t crazy expensive it’s about 100 dollars, so it would be the logical choice. I’m just really worried how they’ll cope in dark hold getting bumped about.

I’ve never done it but I’ve heard it’s not good for them at all. I know somebody who flew from the US to France and then got the train to the UK, spending way more money than flying direct to the UK, because that was the only way their cat could fly in the cabin with them.

My mum did this a very long time ago with a kitten. Approx 4 hour flight. I think she was able to take him as hand luggage at that time? She said the vet prescribed a tranquilizer and the kitten slept the whole way and didn’t give a shit.

Our cats are freaked out by the stairgates. They can get over, I’ve seen them, but would rather not bother. Much easier to scratch at the carpet until someone comes and opens it for you.
