Velvet here, fitting the cushion, looking cute.

But let me tell you about Velvet… He’s always been a bit grabby, a bit gnaw-y. Gentle usually but insistent. He is also very vocal, punctuating his movements with little mews, mehs, britts and chits. He chitters at birds out of the window and has been known to growl to defend a wine cork on the floor. He’s never been much of a lap cat but recently since Weasel has gone he has been more friendly, coming in to knead on us whilst we’re watching tele. He has a funny kneading technique, starting off in the usual way with his front paws - small, exploratory dabs, before building up to deep tissue massage levels. And then the back paws start working too. Okay we think, he’s just getting into it. Then the back starts bending and the hips start circling. “Ha, it looks like he’s mounting you M” I say, “Haha very funny” she replies. But he’s been neutered, so surely there’s no action in that area. But this continues for a while, usually on M and his accompanying noises are becoming a little, well, icky. Obviously I’m still making jokes about Velvet using M as a sex toy but the grinding hips and bent back are getting a bit much to be honest. And a couple of nights ago M got fed up with him and moved him onto the floor where he proceeded to spread his back paws and start licking away at his shocking pink cat boner.

Anyone else got a cat pervert?

My Smudge did this, once he got over his terror of having anyone touching him. His tiny cat brain just got all confused.

Sooty is a very kneedy cat, even more so since Gizmo passed away.

Previously you would hardly ever see him and he’d often come in after I’d gone to bed. Now he won’t leave my lap if he can help it.

It’s part of the reason we’ve not got another rescue yet as I’m liking the Sooty attention, it would be sad if he started buggering off if we got another cat.

Sooty also gets a ridiculously loud purr and drool on when kneeding.

OMG I love a drooly cat - my mum’s boy, Zaphod was a drooly, very loud meowed, shoulder sitting cat

What did he do?

Eeep! Poor thing. Don’t think there’s too much danger here. Besides he doesn’t really listen to me.

Every day I have to pick out that little bit of dried chicken gravy from that part of her mouth. Every day!

My cat has cat food stuck to her head most days, as she sticks her head in her bowl before we’ve finished filling it!

I always take his bowl to the work surface, fill it up and return to the floor. Just so he gets excited and starts his own little circle pit. It was better with two cats.
