Terrible to read, worse for you guys. Really sorry and wish you all the most hugs. I hate saying goodbye to cats so much :crying_cat_face:

Does anyone have a cat who has chronic kidney disease? Like an idiot, I ordered 48 sachets of Tuna royal canin Renal cat food that arrived this morning. I’ll donate it to the cat home unless anyone here needs it?

love that Tuna gets capitalised for you btw. hope you’re doing ok.

I’m too far away!

Donations are great; they helped me out quite a bit during the bad times.

Your local cat rescue will really appreciate it. When Gizmo passed away I donated his CKD food to a rescue, they were appreciative and it gave me some closure knowing it was helping out other cats in need.

Sainsbury’s have Cats Protection bins as well.

Do vets in the UK accept donated medications? I donated after Hypatia, and then Smudge, died. I felt a bit better knowing that someone else struggling would benefit.

I’m not sure. I did give Gizmo’s unopened meds back to the vets, but I’m not sure if that was just for destruction or not. He was on a lot of medication.

I have SO much cat food as she loved to turn her nose up at everything and anything and you can never just buy one to try, you have to buy a box of ten!

I will take the stuff to my local cattery. Although, I might just have to drop it at their shop as going to the center might mean my heart gets pangs and Masala Chai keeps looking at me. I hope someone gives her a home! Look at her.

To be fair… she needs a home and you’ve got some food.

I get that. When Gizmo passed away the cat rescue had a cat who was the double of him. The lady invited me in to her house to see him and the other cats. But I declined as I was already starting to choke up handing his stuff over, I would have totally gone if I’d gone in.

In all seriousness, I feel like I’ve betrayed Princess in some way by letting her go so I won’t be getting another cat for another 6+ months, if we can even handle that tbh. It’s cut us up so bad.

Of course you haven’t but waiting is obviously totally understandable.

Yeah it’s gonna be so hard. Even cleaning out her litter tray and putting a few things in a box under the bed just felt so wrong. I doubt i’ll ever be able to move the little cushion on the windowsill where she was glued to for the last few months cause the radiator was right below it.

It’s all a funny mix of emotions isn’t it!

Also I genuinely wouldn’t know what to do with a cat who had teeth! A few months ago I gave my friends cat a treat and she scared the shit out of me with all her teeth!
