aw that’s a shame. Have you tried other cat rescues nearby? There’s Oldham & Bury RSPCA based just near Oldham, and Milstream Animal Shelter in Newton Heath that I know of.

Yeah, she gets dry food as well as wet food, and she enjoys her biscuits. She doesn’t get any treats other than the occasional Dreamie, so perhaps its the unregulated wildlife she constantly scoffs

I’m feeling like a terrible cat owner right now

I stopped Nina’s pet insurance last year because it became more expensive to insure her than it did to insure the car, and also she’s an old cat so I didn’t want her to have any big procedures or treatments.

She had her follow up appointment about her eye this afternoon. There’s been a bit of improvement but not as much as the vet would like, so he started talking about removing her eye and all the other tests he wanted to do, not realising that she wasn’t insured. Then I said that, and mentioned my reasons, and he said that the work he wanted to do would have cost about £1,600!

So she’s not going to have the operation, but I’m a bit worried that I’ve made that decision based on how much it would cost rather than for the right reasons. Bah.

Met this guy yesterday, he was pretty cool, tried to bite me after I rubbed him a bit. When I get a black cat I’m going to call it Blackie

Got a call from Cleo’s vet yesterday who said that the blood test results showed a pretty low risk of heart disease! He still wants to do an ultrasound but said there’s no rush for that - so cautiously optimistic news! After a shitty week with her I am so happy!

She is always happy as long as she’s getting fed.
