Viktor used to do this thing where he would sit on my lap, put his chest against my body so he was leaning into me, with his face close to mine, staring directly into my eyes and purr. He’s a big cat and I could also feel his body vibrating against mine. Just that connection in that moment is so special.

I was very allergic but we just did it anyway and I’m completely OK with them now.

Still a pretty stupid thing to do in hindsight though.

Anybody else’s cat like popping small objects into shoes? Sirius used to do it and Magda does it too. If we’ve had a beer we’ll drop the bottle cap on the floor and watch Magda come.sprinting over to bat it around a bit, then pick it up in her mouth and drop it into a shoe. A very fun game. Anyway, Her Indoors’ engagement ring has been missing for about a week, we thought I’d must’ve gone behind the bedside cabinet or something. She’s just gone to put her wellies on, and found a solid foreign object in the bottom. Tipped it upside down and there’s the ring. Top points for Magda for that one.

I was a wheezy, asthmatic kid at school. We had cats, whom I adored. When I left home, asthma went away, only to return with a vengeance whenever I went home or into a room with a cat in it. Still do. I love the darlings, but they bloody kill me.

Only recently discovered that it is not normal for your hand to swell up when they scratch you, too

the 1-2 punch of @Matt_was_taken and @bergkamp’s kittens has finished me

Know how you feel…utterly exhausted looking after our two after their neuter. They seem absolutely fine apart from being a bit grouchy with each other but we are wrecked! Hope he is OK. :cat:

Yeah my cat likes putting things in shoes. Once she put a live mouse in my brother’s trainer.

I think she does it because she likes hiding and retrieving things. She likes putting things under the sofa as well, then she’ll stick her arm under there to try to fish it out.

Thanks! The neutering is next but we might let him recover for a while before that and get his sister done first. Besides, she loves going in the cat basket…

It’s like he’s cuddling my leg while he naps

They’re definitely looking more cat like - they now weigh twice as much as when we brought them home!

All seems to be going wrong at once at the moment with the new kitten. Pretty sure the fleas have gone but one flea bite she has chewed and licked at so much it is bleeding, it is right on a bony part of the shoulder. The gammy eye from last week went away but now is back on the other eye, it was puffed right out yesterday with the third eyelid visible. She just miaows and sleeps, with breaks for food it seems at the mo. Vets tomorrow though, was meant to be for jabs and deflea/worming but I am not sure that will actually happen if she is under the weather.

Poor thing, hopefully the vet will be able to help

Little toerag has been trying to climb up the sash window in the bathroom. She fell off yesterday and knocked everything off the window ledge, smashing some plants. Cheers m8.

Sooty literally hasn’t left my side in 24 hours, he’s not even been out.

He’s either on my lap or curled up at the foot of my bed at night.

It’s quite adorable but I’m wondering if he’s ill.
