Tufnell Park Playing Fields
We haven’t played a friendly for ages, so I’m sure everyone is keen to have a kick-about in the park against those lovely fellows from the Chinese Community Centre. And as a special treat, we will be playing on grass. Actual real grass!
As always with international friendlies, we’ll have a proper FA referee, so bring your shinpads and practice those throw-ins.
The usual blurb:
- we play on a full-sized grass pitch
- basic changing rooms with toilet facilities are available
- 2 min walk from Tufnell Park tube station (Northern line)
- arrive at 12:30 PM for warm-up, tactics discussion, pre-match fags, team pictures, etc.
- kick-off at 12 PM sharp
- full 2 x 45 minutes and injury time + 15 min break
- normal FA rules, but with rolling subs
- shirt colour RED
- final team will be announced on Friday
- pounds per player will be collected on the day
- post-match analysis in the nearby Tufnell Park Tavern
You know the drill by now: sign up below if you want to be considered for selection. Applications from specialists (i.e. goalkeepers) will be viewed favourably.
Spooky. I am in the Tufnell Park Tavern right now.
INexplicably going to United Watford so OUT of this match.
Kick off at 1 PM, obviously!
50/50 for this - I’ll let you know later in the week. But, if I can make it, happy to play in net again.
Would love to play but can’t do this Sunday I’m afraid. Good luck and will keep an eye out for the next fixture.
Team for Sunday (4-2-3-1)
Cb: Sean L
Cm: Dan S
Rm: James A
Am: Jake M
Subs from : Edd, Ken, Dale and Andy
Pleased you’re covered in net - couldn’t make it sadly
Please enjoy yourselves safely and win the match.
Oh hi there. Nice to be back x
oh you feeling good? How’s the leg? I nearly joined this game but alas will be back up in Norwich as of tomorrow, soon though!
It’s doing ok. Sunday is the first real test for the ol’ bionic leg: I’ve done a little bit of light training, but no idea how it’ll hold up until I get onto the pitch. I’m desperately unfit, so getting through 10 mins stuck on a wing would be considered a success! Hit me up if you’re about LDN soon again btw man, always good to see you!
(Sorry in advance, all of you)
The sun is out (just about) in North London. Perfect conditions.
Goals by Jamie (header) and Dan (free kick). We didn’t win but played well for most of the game.
Highlight of the day was the barman in the pub afterwards who asked if Drowned In Sound was still going. He used to read it all the time, before he got into EDM.
