💿 CDs you've bought (rolling) 💿

My first charity shops finds of the year. You’ve got to buy Neil when you see him now that he’s no longer streaming on Spotify. I have no idea why I bought ‘Plans’ as it’s a poor album by all accounts. I already have several Death Cab charity shop finds and I’ve only listened to ‘Transatlantism’ more than once - still it’s 50p to a good cause.

I’m not sure why we have a new thread every year for CDs but I’m sure I’ll be posting in it a lot

Yeah plans is mostly great, starts and ends super strongly. What Sarah said, oh my heart.

I’ve started buying more CDs, picked up all sorts from charity shops recently: Portishead s/t, Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem amongst others. On avg. £1 each.

Also got a few bits from Music Magpie this year already, first two Smashing Pumpkins albums for £5 Inc. delivery.

Hard to not pick stuff up at that price. Have a CD player in the kitchen and quite like digital hoarding too, because I’m odd. Needless to say my wife isn’t happy about this latest endeavour.

These two just arrived in the post. Unreasonably excited to stick ‘em on in the car at the weekend…

Coming into increasing pressure to get rid of the big cd unit (around 1200 CDs)

In fairness i rarely touch them (especially as I no longer have a cd player in the car) but I don’t think I can part with them

I love seeing what people have rooted out in charity shops and the like, @Icarus-Smicarus seemed to stumble on some gold every time he left his front door. I used to have no greater pleasure than flipping through the racks, if I get to do any foraging I’ll report back.

Digital hoarder solidarity, I’m hugely attached to my MP3 collection. Oh my that feels more of a dated thing to be than a cd sicko (I like that tag!)

It’s the worst possible time to get rid of them - the CD revival is imminent.

I genuinely think it is - everyone that I’ve told thinks I’m insane.

i still do a bit of this too, even though i eventually caved in 2021 and started an Apple Music subscription

I have both. Massive iTunes library full of purchases and illegal stuff, and also Apple Music subscription. And vinyl. And CDs.

I have a problem, I realise this.

I’ll tell my folks…that have been housing the other 1200 for ten years

You made a good choice in spite of the extremely spicy takes you’ve encountered.

First time on CD. Great sadsack indie/folk with some more expansive post-rock sounds thrown in.
