could this BE any more of a DiS thread?

Did my best! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Ruffers - where are ya, for ffs sake?

The thing that does irritate me is that it’s only expensive in the UK.

It can often be cheaper to pay for the ferry/train/plane and go to the ones on the continent.

Inspired by this thread. I had a wee look to see how much a nice relaxing Tory break would cost us over the half term holidays.

More than I was prepared to spend. Considerably more.

Yeah, there’s no way that we could afford to go if we had kids and had to go during holiday periods.

Try the dutch ones - if you can, book via them, rather than the UK site acting as an agent.

I dunno, the whole point of them is it’s so easy - we get in the car, drive for a bit and relax with our fellow neocons. The idea of flying to get to one…

As if marckee would fly? He’d tell you to take some ferry from a depressing port on the east coast of England.

The difference is staggering. For a family (2 adults, 2 kids) it’ll cost at least £539 to stay a long weekend in November in the UK (e.g. Sherwood Forest). The equivalent in Holland (e.g. Zandvoort) for the same number of people, dates and length will cost you € 339, which even with the poor exchange rate only comes to £ 292.

45% cheaper!

it’s so all the tories that go there can get together and have a great time moaning about RIP OFF BRITAIN

November is unlikely to contain a UK school holiday as well.

It’s ridiculous.

Think of how much better the beer will be in the bar, too.

Hardly any English people too.

It’d be like a really bad Vice article if Rufferz and I went to Centre Parcs together. Let’s get it done.
