I enjoyed the first one. I made it through the second’s worst bits.

This looks fucking dreadful, though. And whoever storyboarded that trailer was clearly an idiot:
“Can you open it with that surprising bit where him and a mate just off a cliff into water?”
“Just like the Star Trek trailer that just came out?”
“What? Anyway, can we have this really original thing where we have the character say ‘I’m not doing X’ and then cut to them doing just that? HEEEE-Larious!”

Oddly, he’s really good in Sons of Anarchy, like a really compelling presence with a pretty decent American accent. This post is an admission that I watched Sons of Anarchy, and enjoyed it.

They are ok(ish) if you forget about it actually being about Sherlock Holmes and you forgive Jude Law for his acting. I’ve only seen the first one.

agreed that he was good in that, particularly the earlier seasons where we was more conflicted and not just a violent twat. Comfortably the worst end to any series I’ve seen though, can’t think about it/him without cringing at that

Yes, it was absolutely terrible and I like to think it didn’t happen. I do this with a lot of TV shows, just edit them in my memory to avoid painful recollections of a man riding a motorbike VERY SLOWLY at a truck while Katy Sagal sings and then there’s a crow and for fucks sake I don’t even.

Hey, I’d say those Holmes films are the only time I’ve found Jude Law’s acting to be good. I have no idea what the says about the rest of the films.

Tbf to the guy, it’s impressive that he managed to be the worst thing about a football hooliganism film starring Elijah Wood as the lead protagonist.

Same. And I still cringe thinking about how bad he was in that. I tend to avoid anything he’s in now, despite him being a bit on the hunky side.

I did not, though weirdly I do know the guy who did the on-set catering. Frankly, Sons of Anarchy only just worked most of the time, but it sort of hung together in a really exciting way. I think the fact that it never quite felt totally assured of itself was part of why it was so good. The ending actually feels like what happened when it did finally take itself as seriously as it always threatened to.
