Northern Soul is decent. The classic with red onion chutney is what you need

Mrs had that, it was better but the most interesting flavour was the chutney, the cheese they use seemed to be mild pale cheddar which probably has a ‘2’ or something on the shelf label at the shops, they needed to mix something tangy in with I thought. I binned most of mine. I have started putting a few pearls of goats cheese in with my cheddar if we’ve got some in the fridge now, since I went all middle class and forgot my fucking roots. Tastes amazing but I do feel like a traitor.

Can ‘winter ceremony otherwise the cheese heavy buffet will spoil in the heat?’ be the new ‘dinner?’

I don’t like it when cheese goes brown.

Cheddar is a rubbish cheese.

Cold cheese on toast is actually really nice though. I don’t massively enjoy the smell of cooking cheddar nor when it’s gone hard and crunchy so for me toast + butter/spread + cheese with possibly some pickle or relish on top was always a top snack as a kid.

The last time I had cheese on toast was at a café in Archway and it came with a bechamel cheese sauce on it and was absolutely fucking AMAZING so now I don’t think I could face anything but that.

I guess it doesn’t surprise me. Peanut butter and cheddar cheese with ketchup as a ‘relish’ on the cheese was one of my favourite sandwiches as a kid. Obviously these days I’m too cultured to use anything but a nice onion relish instead of ketchup but it still sits high when I’ve gone back to it.*

*Obviously it has to be had with some type of ‘plastic bread’, none of your posh nice sourdoughs or whatever.

**Not sure about your peanut butter though Pniks. Looks like it has sugar in.

Crumpet loaf

You know what I’ve got in my fridge chaps? A jar of capers. I wonder…

You wanna get some mango chutney on it. Bread. Mango chutney. Really mature cheddar. Ham. Chutney. Bread. Grate cheese in a frying pan. Wait til it melts, chuck the sarnie in. Cook until toasted/melted. The best

I’d argue that this is a step beyond being ‘cheese on toast’

The hell? Did you clingfilm it before grilling?

Excuse the state of my cheese!

There’s nothing to be gained from posting photos of cheese on toast on this site. I learned my lesson last night (I liked toast that’s burned to oblivion a la Rojo)

Yeah fair play. Leave the last bit of bread off then

Nice as cheese on toast is, it doesn’t seem to photograph well does it?
