I’ve been getting really into chess lately. Instead of absent mindedly playing tetris all day I’ve switched to chess, keep playing against the people who say they’re really good and think I’m pretty much ready to beat the russian guy from the Queen’s Gambit.

Been playing a lot recently. Kinda feel like I’ve improved, whilst being just as prone to massive blunders as I ever was. Kram82 on lichess if anyone wants a correspondence game.

Enjoyed this barrage in the chat of a rapid game this morning (they gave their queen away by the 4th or 5th move.

You seeing a lot of early aggressive queen plays? The very very little I know about opening theory suggests it’s usually a bad idea.

Not massively - not as reckless as this one (they put me in check with their queen immediately next to my king… but didn’t protect it, so my king just jumped on it). Can work in some situations, but you’ve gotta to be sure what you’re doing with it, be careful it doesn’t end up trapped.
