Chicago Recommendations Please

I’m there next month and it will be my first time ever in Chicago.

Only part of the US I’ve been to thus far is NYC.

As you may guess, I’ll be interested to visit areas which have good coffee shops and are similar to places like Camden/Shoreditch in London or Brooklyn in NYC.

All recommendations welcome, thanks

As you’ll pick up, I strongly recommend the twilight river tour and the Frank Lloyd Wright studio/neighbourhood tour.

Walk around in chefs whites smoking and calling everyone cousin

100% Came here to say this.

Best pizza I’ve had in Chicago. We went on a weekend. Maybe a 40 minute wait. Went next door and had a few drinks. Worth the wait. But was last there 2020.

Yolk for breakfasts

I’d be extremely tempted to head to Billy Corgan’s tea shop

The Wormhole coffee is an 80’s themed café. It has a DeLorean.

No memory of the coffee. But I’ll take that as coffee was okay.

In that area you also have Mindy’s bakery. (Of CM Punk press conference rant fame)

Loved the Wicker Park area, particularly Quimbys and Myopic Books, and the record shops. Enjoyed the drinking culture of the city too which felt quite similar to the UK. Can’t wait to go back.

Thanks everyone for the above. I’ll be staying on Michigan Ave so any reco’s for that area specfically are handy.

I’m hoping to find somewhere to do some (indoor, probably) lane swimming.
