Childhood shows you saw at the theatre

Sooty was nothing compared to Button Moon.

Standard Xmas panto only for me

Everything about them perplexed and horrified me

I saw the one with Widow Twinkie and Buttons and Otis the Aardvark was in it

Sooty as mentioned elsewhere but also a Thunderbirds thing where the actors ran around with hats shaped like the vehicles to show they were flying or whatever

Needless to say I thought and continue to think that it was one of the finest pieces of art I’ve ever encountered

Oh yeah, and something Button Moon related as well but that is an extremely early memory

Mr Spoons would definitely be on DiS, look how pessimistic he is.

Uncanny!

Chuckle Brothers in Stockton or somewhere.
Hated going to anything at a theatre - had/have an intense phobia of sudden loud noises, so would spend the entire show experiencing what I now know to be a panic attack at the prospect of any pyrotechnic stuff happening.

Button Moon as my younger brother loved it. I think I enjoyed it too but maybe didn’t want to admit it.

Went to a couple of pantomimes but not sure which.

We used to go to this hotel every year that had a regular children’s entertainer who I remember enjoying. I googled him recently hoping not to find anything dodgy, was relieved to find nothing bad and that he’s now working with disabled young adults supporting them to get jobs or something like that.

Saw Phil Mitchell as captain hook twice I believe.

was great because as a young child, you don’t really distinguish between the actor and character as well, and Phil Mitchell was probably England’s number one badboy when I was a kid.

Who do you reckon it is now?

Dad’s Army, original cast.

I had no idea what was going on as I about 6.

I recognised Mannering and Pike though.
