given how many of us here indulge in very nice very fancy chocolates, we really need a thread to track the favs and recommendations
Its a niche but I suppose i can be persuaded
Just finished and just started one last night
This is an all-time favourite, rich and dark fruity - their choc orange is very good too
This was hard not to devour, whole coffee beans make for a satisfying crunch and pop of flavour

Can we see the map of glenshiel?
@JaguarPirate do you keep the wrappers in a little drawer somewhere?
They seem too nice to throw away
I had a mini roll today but I’ll keep you posted if I snarf any posh chocolate
I do sometimes then don’t do anything with them and they all go out at once. Might stick the most recent in a cork board or something
you should do an annual recap of your favourite chocolates and post a nice picture of all the wrappers. Give us all something to look forward to
they have palm trees in Plockton?!
I randomly did a bit of an informal chocolate tasting for something to do in the evenings over Christmas with my girlfriend. I went on to chocorunners and bought 6 random bars but tried to pick some interesting countries. I asked her to guess the cocoa content and country the beans were from. This is pretty wanky right??
I’ll see if I took a pic of the bars I got
yes, wonderful stuff
Bought a mixed box of the Ocelot chocolates a while back, thought they looked the part and enjoyed the teture but was a little bit underwhelmed in terms of taste given how expensive they were. The lemon white chocolate was probably our favourite of theirs.
Would love some recommendations for good filled chocolates - used to get the occasional box from these guys and they were awesome but they stopped in 2023 sadly. Really unusual flavours and beautiful looking chocolates:
I still have them so thought I’d do a photoshoot.
They were all excellent but I think my favourites were the Madagascan, and the Labooko Sao Tome.
Like with wine and coffee it’s just incredible how different they are, and how fruity and acidic some of them are without anything being added
Haven’t got to tasting notes level yet!
what kinda spend are we talking for the chocolates people will talk about in this thread?
I don’t eat much so would consider buying some wank level good stuff
Think £5 plus is what I’d expect for this type of stuff
I bet you guys love a Bournville don’t you!
Probably not quite what this thread is designed for, but I walked past a little shop around Covent Garden yesterday that appeared to be making artisanal bars of chocolate on the premises, like fancy Snickers kind of thing. It was closing at the time but I’m definitely down for that idea.
