Christmas gift ideas thread 2025

:christmas_tree: :santa: :deer:

A picture of where my life is now is that I find myself with more people to buy Christmas gifts for. Which is kind of nice. How are the gift purchases going? Seeking advice of some sort?

Boy, I know I am!

One of my friend’s has got a house. For her birthday, I got a gift voucher for like H&M Home which I thought was a fine shout. Tempted to do that again, but is there anything else you’d tend to get for someone who’s just got a house?

I like this moon calendar maybe I’ll buy it for someone / myself

Made a very slow start on gift gathering. There is a brilliant home ‘smells’ place near me called Earl of East and they’re currently doing gift sets for £30. That’s sorted out two friends Xmas presents.

Got a few chocolate gift sets for the rents so far but need moar thingz

Funny that Rob made the same typo in here originally

Their ‘Onsen’ candle is a favourite in our house.

As everyone should know, since the 12 days last through 5th Jan, we really ought to call it Christmas 24/25.

Anthropologie candle!

If they’ve been renting and haven’t been able to put stuff on the walls then a nice framed print or a framed photo could be a good idea

Oh actually, the one thing in my house that gets the most compliments is my beloved candle warmer lamp

I’ve asked for a second one so I can have a scented bedroom without the fear of burning my house down

It all depends on how much you like the parents. If you like them, then books, if you hate them, then noisy toys and/or sweets

I love their parents but I also love annoying everyone sooo

Something Bluey related would probably work for any/all of them

My 5 year old loves crafting. If they’re into that then any of these things could be good

Jumping Clay (or cheaper Amazon alternative)
We usually buy this one

Probably best for 3 or 4 year old

Julia Donaldson books are good for most ages. The Acorn Wood ones for the younger kids and then Zog, Tiddler, Room on the Broom etc for older kids. My favourite is maybe The Everywhere Bear.

Hairy McClary and Mo Willems’ pigeon books would also do well with the 3 or 4 year old. The 4 and 6 year old would also enjoy The Boom With No Pictures, I think we bought a copy for every kid we know over the years

I’ve ordered a birdbath for my parents. Not sure if they’ll fit in it though :joy::joy::joy:
