I usually get a fantastic idea or two from DIS for the kiddos every year for more unconventional, less plastic crap, type presents.
What are people finding this year?

Got this for my 4 year old nephew’s birthday and he thinks it’s the best thing ever (his words).
Thanks
Lego. Every Christmas and birthday, Lego. So much Lego
Also, you can buy unused Heelies on vinted for a tenner
We’ve got it! It’s a great one. My kids are older now (10 and 6) and rediscovered it at the back of the bookcase about a month ago and still found it hilarious.
so. much. lego. and so much more on their lists already.
To the point that playing with lego is not so much ‘building’ as it is ‘finding’
I always, always recommend this. Whenever we have a birthday for a 3-6 year old, the first question is “Have we already bought them The Book With No Pictures?”
My 8 year old is enjoying these at the minute
Boardgames/Card Games I’d recommend:
Spotty Sausage Dogs, A Game About Wee Whimsical Creatures and Bluey Scavenger Hunt (4+)
Cluedo Jr, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza and Outfoxed (5+)
Sleeping Queens, Telestrations (6+)
My Little Scythe, Diamant, Sushi Go Party (7+)
FFO: Lego
Plus-Plus
We recently got a load at school and can confirm it has been a massive hit right across from 5-11. The stuff the older ones make in particular is really impressive, kinda nicely different challenge from Lego.
oh that’s good
oooh good shout
I wonder if my eldest niece would be able to tear herself away from her phone to read it, though
I’m wondering about a good keyboard for kids, as my sister was thinking of getting one for my nieces
might just look into getting a good budget one with weighted keys, but idk
defs interested in suggestions for musical presents for kids, though
and arty ones! illustration-centric, or maybe animation-related
Ukulele
Absolute excellent beginner instrument imo master three chords and you are away.
true
I have one myself, just a relatively cheap one, that I thought of giving to them. might bundle that in
PC World!
Tempted to get kalimbas for our two to mess around with this year.
Wrong thread fucked it
Very festive
