I almost threw in an extra poll about how easily unwrapped your presents are but thought that would be overkill

I do tend to make those for very old/very young easy access too, I did all of the ones for my boy earlier and put just enough tape to keep the paper on and left loose bits for him to get his fingers into.

I noticed this too and was wondering about how you could manage that - perhaps layer tape to make it into sheets you could use like wrapping paper, then more tape to hold it together obvs.

Probably the best thing about wrapping tbf :+1:

love doing curling ribbon stuff. gf thinks im a proper idiot coz i dont bother with my wrapping being that smart but then i do a sticky bow thing and curl up all that ribbon on it, really polish that turd

And then it snags and tears just at the end of the cut. :rage:

Bonus wrapping poll!
Wrapping awkwardly shaped gifts:

  • A satisfying challenge
  • Just put it in a gift bag/box
  • Anything that isn’t cuboid can fuck right off

Hi @profk, you answered that you only use wrapping paper and no tape options were selected, was this an oversight/you got bored of the poll, or do you have a brilliant tape-free technique? I managed one tapeless, self-closing join the other day wrapping a present but have never secured a whole gift in this manner.

One last poll and I am done, promise.

What is your main method of present identification?

  • Gift tags
  • Labels/stickers
  • Write directly on paper
  • Hope that you can recognise them by sight
  • Other (please state)

I’ve never been organised enough to buy or use gift tags

Sharpies are excellent for writing on wrapping paper

it’s usually always coordinated though, to make sure we’re both not buying the same thing

no option for coating the gift in heavy duty 3M masking/electrical tape.

Excellent technique. Can’t believe I left double-sided tape off the poll.

Please select ‘other (please state)’, thanks. How am I going to complete the spreadsheet with incomplete responses! there is no spreadsheet

tbh thinking about it this could give away my secret santa if they come in here. @Japes - should I remove this post?

@anon89873996 your work in this thread today was basically trying to find out who wrapped your secret santa present, wasn’t it? :grinning:

Good way of getting your tags coordinated with your paper without spending silly money on tags

My cousin’s wife makes all her gift tags by cutting up last year’s Christmas cards, works pretty well.
