Ciabatta bread is only 38 years old

Created in 1982 to stop Italians enjoying baguettes

Food fascism is so nuts.

Do you think we will see any new foods in our lifetime Theo?

I believe we will see many and I’d guess you have seen some yourself.

Red velvet has got to be pretty recent in the cake world.

Also: Ciabatta was invented in my lifetime FWIW

I knew this but only because it happened to be mentioned on a Radio 4 panel game earlier this week

Ah sorry, don’t know the cake and wasn’t making a remark about your age!

Snacks maybe but I can’t see like a new bread or pie or form of potato or something

Aha! I guessed it must have come up somewhere fairly niche in broadcasting after a friend of a friend messaged about it!

Red velvet cake is about 100 years old, not that recent really

Greggs vegan sausage roll: in your lifetime.

Most vegan alternatives to meat or diary have also been made in your lifetime, I reckon.

Probably more the case with drinks thinking about it. Energy drinks are fairly recent I reckon.

I really fancy a red bull now

Oh well, see my other post

(I think someone must have popularised it recently then as I never remember seeing it in the 80s or 90s)

Always surprises me that banoffee pie was invented in Eastbourne in 1971, seems an unlikely combination

Contrary to popular opinion, a small can of really cold red bull is delicious

I can’t remember what ciabatta is

It’s a bread mate.

There’s so many and it’s been so long
