CInematic hot takes

Can casting really be that difficult?

the best tarantino film is the one that fewest people like

The one about the ridiculous car?

The Bourne Identity is just the Hangover but all serious and with a spy in it instead of a stag party

True Romance is the best Tarantino film.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is a complete masterpiece.

Yeah same. I find it very hard to articulate what I like about so many films that I see. I have a back and forth text chat with a film-buff mate about what we’ve seen over the last few years. His messages are really long, talking about final acts and cinematography and mine are along the lines of “Hereditary. Shit scary. 8/10”

Actually - that is another hot take…

Film reviews are pointless. Tell me the genre and give me a mark out of 5.

The Princess Bride isn’t anything special. It’s Green Album, the movie.

Me too and I completely agree. I don’t post in here that often despite watching loads of films as the comment most of the time will be ‘fine, entertained me enough for a couple of hours’.

(Not that the discussions aren’t interesting of course!)

Yeah. I mean I know what I’ve posted in this thread suggests I just watch dumb shit, but even after studying film, if I like a film - I like it. I watch all yer monacle shite, and love much of it, but sometimes I just wanna watch men in black.

I don’t mind her but she does seem to have made a career out of channeling Lorraine Bracco in Goodfellas

Kevin wasn’t actually Home Alone?
