I don’t like how you can discover the internet before computers

I played the original Civ to death but the next one was while I had no computer at Uni so I never really got more than a few plays on it.

Because I’d got so good at Civ I didn’t like having to relearn all the tactics and stupidly never really continued with the series.

I was a massive fan of starting as Russia or the Romans on the standard Earth map and trying to kill everyone and win the game before 1AD.

or 6 if you’re not bothered about being an indie try-hard

The first two sentences of this review couldn’t resonate with me more.

I’m supposed to click on a link to “nintendoworldreport” now am I?

We all live in Nintendo World, really.

6 is better than 5

turns out I can’t anyway. Firewall rejects fun.

same.

BANNED : GAMES!!!

Don’t think we’ve had one of these yet. Preferred victory type:

  • Cultural
  • Science
  • Domination
  • Diplomatic

Maybe its juat my impatience or lack of forward planning but domination ia the only way i can win often

Missed out religious.

My usual preference is Cultural>Science>Religious>Domination and once they reintroduce Dipomatic into Civ 6 that’ll probably come bottom of the list.

Ahh I’ve only played Civ5 so I’m not familiar with religious victories

usually have a quick little war early on with my closest neighbours to wipe them out and give me room to expand, then settle down and go for a cultural / science victory depending on what civ I am

I seem to remember they introduced it in 5 as DLC.

Hmmm I’ve got all the DLC and I don’t think you can win a religious victory? I think you’re right that religion came in the Gods and Kings update though.

yeah that’s what I was thinking of
