(I used to run their website until their hiatus but this is the first I found out about the new album being due)
This is incredible news! Lido is one of my all-time favourite albums. I always hoped they’d come back with something.

One of the most criminally underrated bands of the last 30 years. Lido and Cedars are incredible albums; light and dark respectively. All the love in the world for a band who make the act of not wanting to wake up sound like an impending apocalypse:
I love that when I first heard that song, I thought it was about something portentous and then no, it was just that.
I got frustrated in the mid 00s when nobody updated their website (they were on a big label so that should have happened) so I just built one myself then let them know. That led to me running it as the official one for their last three years or so before hiatus. Lovely people. I’ve asked if I can help them out a little with whatever is planned this time round. Suspect it’s not going to be “full scale” because it’s been 19 years and they’ve got jobs and lives.
Wonderful news to stumble upon. Have loved Clearlake since about 2004 or so. A classic example of discovering an excellent band just purely because I liked their name. Sometimes it really does pay to go with your gut.
Since folks are posting their songs, here’s a tune from their underappreciated third album that is unexpectedly tender and one of the best things they ever put their name to.

Sounds like you still have contact with the band, any word on a physical release yet? I’m trying to refrain from listening to it until I can buy a copy! It’s challenging.
The intention is for a physical release this year, vinyl at the very least. I really hope so too. The album is fantastic.
I wonder what colour the vinyl will be.
