They aren’t cliches because they are true…they are cliches because they are overused and THAT is what makes them a cliche.

I like it when there is a cliché (well, a proverb really) for both sides of an argument.

“Fools rush in where angels fear to tread” vs “fortune favours the brave”

“You’ve got to speculate to accumulate” vs “a fool and his money are soon parted”
