What they did on this album was way more effective than doing another bangers only rager of a record. He’s become a better songwriter and I can’t wait to hear where they go next.

They’ve given themselves a much better chance of longevity.

not really gone back to it all tbh

I had a chat with Dylan in case anyone fancies a read (accidentally bumped the less-prolific Cloud Nothings thread before, hence why I’m posting this twice).

The album is streaming now: http://hypem.com/premiere/cloud+nothings

Really looking forward to seeing them live at KOKO soon.

Is it just me or is Hype Machine only streaming the first three tracks?

Do I have to sign into a Hype Machine account?

Looks like the rest isn’t available in our country…

Ok - listening through other means.

Sounds terrific to me. Was a little dubious re: his statements saying ‘less hard, more craft’ (or words to that effect) but I think it’s actually true. Lots of wonderful little moments of subtlety buried in their - and the flow is great. Seriously blasts by with no disappointments/lulls.

To my great surprise, I’m enjoying it much more than the Japandroids, which I like but feels maybe too considered…

Listened to this yesterday. It’s okay: a little bit same-same, but at the same time not-same in a lost-the-qualities-you-most-like-about-the-band kind of way.

NB: this opinion may vary after subsequent listens.

Only a 7 from Pitchfork

Enjoyed the dude’s DiS interview.

I’ve always thought this about your music, would you agree?

I guess. Sure.

I also gave it a 7 on DiS

Just listening to it for a second time on Bandcamp.

Of course I’m going to buy it, though.

So far 9 out of 10 from me

It’s fucking great.

This is great. Definitely grows and has a great flow

I like this a lot, kind of reminds me of the strokes a little bit… is that just me? But I like it a lot.

The last two tracks are real stompers

yeah this album really stays with you doesn’t it? I read the p4k review for some reason and I’d agree that the hooks arn’t there like they were in the last one but it just feels so fucking right
