The only one I don’t really get from today is Brian in B1, I couldn’t quite work out how his status was determined, as far as I could tell he could be either.

i dont understand how you’re meant to do that without the clues. what a flawed game, really. it has flaws. like, i basically just brute forced my way through it understanding the Tutorial well, but i just clicked Hint, then clicked Innocent or Guilty on the highlighted square until it changed.

More Spoilers

You’ve got that at least one of Sarah and Tom are innocent. We know there’s an odd number of innocent people in this row. Is it possible Paul, Sarah and Tom are all innocent? If not, then Paul is a criminal.

Spoilers

Xia statment means that there is either 1 innocent in row four or 3 innocents. Since Vince states Xia has more criminals than innocent neighbours then you can deduce that if there were 3 innocent in this row then that statement would be false so there must just be 1 innocent. With Zach’s statement the single innocent in row 4 has to be either Sarah or Tom so that Zach can have at least one innocent neighbour so that means Paul must be guilty.

Summary

You know A2 and B2 are criminals. Therefore, even though we don’t know what A1 is at that point, we know they have to have at least one innocent neighbour, so B1 is innocent.

Ahhhh.

Summary

I couldn’t get past the thinking that A1 could be innocent and B1 a criminal, but obviously that doesn’t fulfil all the criteria. Basically was being thrown by the fact that the innocent need innocent neighbours too.

I don’t think either of your explanations is quite right. Vince’s clue means there are at least two criminals on row four, and Xia’s clue thus means there are three. Zack’s clue then means both Paul and Tom are criminals since the innocent one has to be either Tom or Sarah.

Your logic follows, but I think you can work out Rob’s identity without needing Xias clue. Xias clue then helps work out Paul.

I’m always better at working these things out for myself than I am at explaining them to other people!

Yep agreed

It’s a bit of a flaw that you can have as many goes at these as you like. We are all a bunch of cheats after all.
